4th Day - thursday - Westcoast 1st attempt

For today I had planned to go to the Westcoast. I have been there during my last holiday in Scotland - but unfortunately the weather had been extreme bad. At that time I started with sunshine in Edinburgh, in Glasgow the sky was over casted and from Loch Fyne onwards it was raining. I have not seen much of the Mull of Kintyre (or actually nothing).

This time it rained in Edinburgh. So I hoped this time it would be the other way round, the weather would become better the further west I got. But that was a false conclusion, at least as far as I got. First I drove over the M8 to Glasgow. Then for the first guessing - no sign to the A82. Hmm, Loch Lomond must be diagonally right from me so I turned right. And it was right; here were wee signs with the number of the road. Then bigger sign showing the direction to Dumbarton and Erskine Bridge. Exactly the direction I needed. Now I drove north along Loch Lomond. From time to time I could see the Loch through the trees. Only the top of the hill were covered in clouds. At Tarbert I had to turn left, further on the A83 the Old Military Road (it looks like it is running through entire Scotland, somewhere is always an Old Military Road). At Arrochar I drove on a parking area to take some photos of Loch Long. Like usually it should go fast. So the camera was on, car door open and out of the car. But I forgot that I had a lanyard at the keys. In Germany no problem but in Scotland is left-hand-traffic. So the steering wheel is on the right site and the keyhole is also on my right site (like in Germany too, but) close to the door. In the rush my feet hooked in the ribbon and I felt out of the car on my right site. The camera flew out of my hand. I pulled myself together, picked up the camera, entered the car again and tried to sort myself. My shoulder was hurting and most of all my hip. Also I must have had damaged my elbow, that hurt too. What now? The weather was stil bad, the camera broken, I was dirty and I was no longer in a good mood. So I made up my mind to go back to Edinburgh and that was good so. During the drive I could feel how the blood spread over my hip and butt cheek. At home at my Bed and Breakfast I change my cloths and lay down a while. Then I look at the internet where I could buy a new camera. It felt onto the lens and did not work anymore. Soon I found a wee shop on the way from my Bed and Breakfast to the castle. So I went in the soft rain to the shop and bought a new camera.

Because of the accident today no photos :-(
